Professor Ngo Van Long
(1948-2022)
This two-day workshop, organized by Hassan Benchekroun (Economics, McGill U.), Francisco Alvarez-Cuadrado (Economics, McGill U.), Robert Cairns (Economics, McGill U.), Gérard Gaudet (sc. économiques, U. de Montréal), Licun Xue (Economics, McGill U.) et Georges Zaccour (HEC Montréal), is in honor of Ngo Van Long.
Holder of a Ph.D. in economics from the Australian National University, he was a professor in the Department of Economics at McGill University, a Fellow at CIRANO and a Fellow at CIREQ.
Long has made significant and lasting contributions in several distinct but related fields, emphasizing their complementarity and intersections: resource and environmental economics, international trade theory, dynamic optimization and dynamic game theory in economics, and industrial organization theory.
