Inaugural Event: CIREQ-SGI Lecture on Economics of the Environment

The CIREQ-SGI Lecture on Economics of the Environment is a new annual lecture introduced by CIREQ and the Sustainable Growth Initiative (SGI) at McGill. Each lecture will feature a leading scholar in the field, who will give an original overview of recent developments and debates in research on Economics of the Environment. Lectures will address topics such as Climate change and economic tools to address it, the fiscal costs of climate change, environmental impacts of trade, the energy transition, floods and insurance, among others.

At this inaugural event, Rick van der Ploeg will showcase his research on Transformative Climate Policies: Overcoming Obstacles in the Green Transition.
